Oscars 2010

The Star's Hollow Oscars Night is done and dusted for another year with lots of commentary on the red carpet, lots of drooling over the boys, lots of dessert eating and heaps of fun.
At the end of the night here are the things that stood out for us -

Our Top 5 Oscar Moments.

No 5 - Steve and Alec - We all greatly enjoyed the presenters this year who after a bit of a slow start warmed up to be worthy hosts. They made fun of themselves and others but didn't rely on bagging people for a laugh. Well done guys.

No 4 - Zac Efron - impeccably dressed with great hair and a poise and grace on stage that belied his tender years.

No 3 - Jeff Bridges best actor win for 'Crazy Heart' - you've got to love the guy - a legend indeed.

No 2 - The tribute to John Hughes - Not only was the tribute deserved but the montage of his movies was so fun to watch. The role call of great faces that popped up in this films was fabulous with many of them there on the night.

No 1 - Everything about Sandra! We decided that the whole Sandra Bullock package tonight was spot on. She looked lovely, her red carpet interview was unassuming and self deprecating. Her win was a crowd favourite and she reduced us all to tears with a truly perfect Oscar's speech.

Our Top 5 disappointments of the Night

No 5 - The quality of the production - The sound was pretty crap and we weren't happy with the editing either - get it together guys.

No 4 - The 'In Memoriam' segment lacked any pathos and for a segment which usually reduces us to tears it was sadly lacking.

No 3 - No drunken, political or 'Gweneth'esque speeches. All pretty tame really.

No 2 - No Channing Tatum - Seriously , where was he?

No 1 - The Fashion - All in all a massive disappointment. We struggled to think of our favourites for the evening as once again there was lots of insipid 'blush' coloured gowns or ill fitting mermaid styles. (Thank god the boys were there to pick up the slack)

  1. Great round up of the night!!
I agree with everything - except the Chan. As good as you say he is in Dear John, I kinda didn't care where he was!
