Fave films of 2010

Don't tell Cool Rider I have been so slack with posting since she has been away!!! At least i've covered the majors..pregancies, engagements, marriages and a bit of Ryan!!!

As a little goodbye to 2010, here is a list of some of my fave films of the year. this is in no particular order, as i always find it hard to pick just one!!

ANIMAL KINGDOM - this is a great Aussie film. it's the type we do so well. it's a tough watch, and fairly violent, but mesmerising at the same time. The performances are fantastic and i found Ben Mendelsohn's portrayal of 'Pope' absolutely menacing and convincing.

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT - I love this type of film. Brilliant cast, great acting, well written. A great night out at the flicks and Vampire Weekend on the soundtrack!

EASY A - this flick was so well written, with smart dialogue and many 80's references, and it introduced me to my newest girl crush, Emma Stone. Can't wait to see more of her in the future. It also let me get to know another new fave chick Aly Michalka form Hellcats a little better and my dislike for ∂an Humphrey, eased slightly, he was kinda cute as the beaver (was that what he was, can't remember now!) And the film is totally worth watching just for the performances of patircia Clarkson and Stanley tucci!

THE LAST SONG - was absolutely adorable. Bawled my eyes out and fell in love all at the same time!!!

Ahhhhh....lovley Liam!

HARRY POTTER 7 - of course, except the weird fantasy scene in the forest with hermione and harry, that kinda freaked me out!!!

DEAR JOHN - why not!!!! switch off the brain, shed a tear, enjoy the joys of a hot bogan!!!

CHARLIE ST CLOUD - This is really a whole other category. Best film moment of the year. Who knows if the film was actually any good, we watched in the presence of the man himself, Zac Efron! My loins are limbering just thinking about it!!!!

HURT LOCKER - yes, it was 2010. Great film!

THE TOWN - Ben Affleck, the comeback king. Written, directed and acted in this ripper crime thriller. If you haven't seen it, catch it when it's out on DVD. Definitely worth a look.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK - What an excellent film. Topical, fascinating, brilliant acting, directing and such clever dialogue. This film introduced me to the delights of Andrew Garfield, of whom I am now looking very forward in seeing in some future projects!

and of course BLUE VALENTINE. I know there are some of you that are Gosling lovers that are not necessarily loving this film, but I think the more distance you have from it and can appreciate the amazing performances of Ryan and Michelle, then I think you will love it! Or am I really just too biased to even watch a film with Ryan in it and not love it!

So there you have it. i know i will have forgotten some and I know there are others that I loved, but maybe not quite as much as these ones!!!

  1. The Town, Easy A and Social Network are at the top of my list.

And you are so right about Blue Valentine. I do feel like I had to let it simmer a bit before I could really say how I felt about it. It is definitely a movie that stays with you. And of course, Ryan and Michelle were both brilliant in it.
