The Vow

In The Vow (out Valentine’s Day 2012), Rachel McAdams stars as a woman who suffers a traumatic brain injury in a car accident and wakes up to find the past five years of her memories erased. During that time, she had married a handsome, loving man (Channing Tatum) — but now she has no idea who he is. “We really are the sum of our memories. When that’s taken away, what do we have left?” says director Michael Sucsy (HBO’s Grey Gardens). “It’s a romantic story about a guy who has to win back his soul mate.”

Aaaaah!  Sigh.....

When Rachel McAdams is the patient and Channing Tatum is the man trying to win her back how can this film fail to tug at our heartstrings.

Add a good dollop of Scott Speedman and you have the recipe for the perfect chick flick.
There is another reason this film will be interesting for those of us that are Australian - The gorgeous Sam Neil is in it and lets face it - being a New Zealander just means we claim you anyway, but the other interesting casting in this film is that of Jessica McNamee.
She of Packed To The Rafters and Dancing With The Stars fame!!  This is the role that she left Rafters for - the lure of Hollywood was too strong.

‘The Vow‘ is based on the real-life story of Arizona couple Kim and Krickitt Carpenter who were married in 1993. Two months after their marriage, the couple’s car was hit from behind by a truck, leaving Krickitt in a coma and with amnesia after coming out of the coma. They later chronicled their story in a book called “The Vow: The Kim and Krickitt Carpenter Story‘, and the film is based on their book.
