3D Mania
We are not big fans of the 3D film here at Stars Hollow and will always chose the 2D version over the 3D if possible. Call us traditionalists but the thought of wearing really uncomfortable glasses for two hours for limited advantage doesn't really float our boat. Unfortunately the powers that be seem to think that everything is made better by adding an extra dimension and they are trotting out 3D versions of classic films like there's no tomorrow.
A 3D version of The Lion King hits theaters this Friday, both Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and Titanic will be given a 3D theatrical re-release early next year - and now word is out that Tony Scott’s Top Gun is also being converted into three dimensions! I am more than happy to see these favourites up on the big screen again but it has nothing to do with them being in 3D - why can't they just re-release them for us to enjoy without messing with them?
Certainly give me TOP GUN on the big screen, I will be there every time, but 3D, not so much!!!
