Chuck Bass Does Bronte

Gossip Girl bad boy Ed Westwick, aka Chuck Bass, has been cast as the dark hero Heathcliff in the film adaptation of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights. How perfect is that! I haven't come across casting that appropriate for ages. Basically it won't be much of a stretch as Chuck Bass is a modern day Heathcliffe anyway. Natalie Portman was cast as Cathy but unfortunately has since dropped out. Abbie Cornish was up next but also dropped out - Cathy will now be played by Gemma Arterton who played the title role in Tess of the D'Urbervilles and was Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace. For those who watched 'Lost In Austin', you may recognise Gemma and she was also in 'The Boat That Rocked'!! Definitely someone to keep an eye on me thinks.

THE 7.30 REPORT

I know the 7.30 REPORT is not the usual place you would find me going for my film stories, however, would love everyone to watch on Tuesday night (26th May 7.30pm ABC) to see a story on a fantastic new Aussie film called MY YEAR WITHOUT SEX. And when I say Aussie, it was filmed locally in the west. A delightful, very real story that will hit home to many starring the amazingly talented Sacha Horla and the very cute Matt Day. Sarah Watt, the film maker, has captured our everyday lives and beautifully crafted them for the big screen. On a personal note, look out for the Sun Theatre featuring in the story!

I am pretty sure that it is just wishful thinking on the part of all the Twilight obsessed who want the real life Edward and Bella to be together.

Having said that though, I must say that in the top photo Rob is gazing very lovingly at Kristen!

Next month Lauren Graham's new movie is released in the states. Unfortunately it is going to take an illegal download or a miracle for it to be shown here but we can only keep our fingers crossed.

Zac's Latest Offering

Our favourite boy is about to start production on his latest film. After pulling out of Footloose Zac has signed on for The Death and Life Of Charlie St. Cloud.The story follows the bond between two brothers, one of whom survives a tragic crash and one who doesn’t. It is set in the cemetery, where Charlie St. Cloud speaks to the ghost of his dead brother, Sam. The movie is being adapted from the novel by Ben Sherwod. Zac will be playing the role of Charlie.

So why does this photo bring such relief K? Seriously, a photo of Tom Cruise at a Lakers game? Aah, a Connor sighting, thats why. I've had a sad feeling that the 2 'kidman/cruise' kiddies had been forgotten on the highway to true love and happiness and left by the wayside by Tom and Katie locked up in their freakish scientologistic ways and Nic and keith in their country love bubble, but now, an outing in public with Connor, the forgotten one. It makes my heart sing. Not much to congratulate Tom on since he took his top off in TOP GUN and mastered the art of mixing a fancy drink in COCKTAIL, but now, you have made me happy Tom Cruise. Well done!

A talented aussie boy making good in the US. If you don't know him, his name is Michael Johns and he shot to fame after making it to the final few in American Idol last year. He seems really grounded and lovely and has a very hot smile! Ellen has claimed he is one of her most favourite idols ever and he has not only been on her show several times but was invited to her 50th b;day party. He has a new album coming out in a few weeks and I will be chasing it down by hook or by crook! Think I need the Cd though, not the download, as I need his pretty smile on the box!

If you are an attentive reader of Star's Hollow you will notice a worrying trend - and no I don't mean our unhealthy attachment to young men - I'm talking about the strange phenomenon that has K and I posting about the same subject at the same time without realising.
This has happened on a number of occasions, most recently being our posts yesterday about Chace Crawford and Footloose. Not only did we post about the same obscure subject, but we did it at the same time but from different suburbs! The scary thing is this is not the first time it has happened! Bizarre.
My apologies if you read one post and then wondered why on earth we repeated ourselves. People who knew each other in past lives can not help these things! Keep your wits about you in case it happens again.

There is no arguing the gorgeousness of Chace Crawford. I will be the first to put my hand up and say he is very rootable (classy aren't I), but come on!!! Chace has just signed on for the remake of Footloose and although we had warning we never thought they would really go ahead with it. It looks like it is now a done deal with the movie set for release in 2010.

Oh dear. I have just been reading about the sequel to POINT BREAK. Please don't do it! The original is an absolute classic and goldmine of one liners and waves starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in some of their finest roles (i use the term loosely - but they are easy to love in this one!!)

Utah starts to walk down to the beach. He stops a surfer going the other way, and the following exchange occurs:

SURFER. No one's been out. No one's going out. You've got to be fucking crazy, man. Death on a stick out there, mate.

Well, sadly I doubt that he will be back in the sequel. Casting for the sequel is still in its early stages, but it seems another aussie will get a shot. None other than Damian Walshe-Howling of Blue Heelers and Underbelly fame (again I use the term loosely)

This is a Clint Eastwood directed number so should be a good one!!

Memory Lane

A friend of Stars Hollow has just started watching Gilmore Girls with her 14 year old daughter. They are absolutely loving it - as we knew they would - so I thought I'd use this as an excuse for some more GG memories. They have just finished watching season 1 so this won't spoil any surprises for them.

You may need to know him, for if my blogging ceases abruptly and you hear I am in Denmark, well Mads is the reason!

One of Denmark's finest actors, not only does he shine in pieces such as OPEN HEARTS, tv series UNIT ONE and WILBUR WANTS TO KILL HIMSELF, but he occasionally crosses over to some mainstream Hollywood, for example CASINO ROYALE.

New Heath

THIS is the first official picture to be released of Heath Ledger in his last film The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus. The film is going to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next week.

According to critics the film is better than expected. I for one will be going regardless of wether they think it's good or not!

Ledger died midway through filming and was replaced by three actors (Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell). They have cleverly managed to complete the film with Heath's replacements only popping up in dream sequences.
