Not only did Andrew McCarthy pop up in an episode of Gossip Girl as Lily's Dad in the flashback episode (and hopeful spin off ep.) but he is now set to direct an episode of the show we all get our guilty pleasures from. He is apparently a huge fan of the show but won't let on what his episode is about. Too much McCarthy is never enough as far as I am concerned - I think he should join the cast in a permanant capacity, maybe as Lily's long lost brother?
