RANDOM

No, this is not Kevin Federline! This is James Franco on the set of Spring Breakers. You know the film that we keep seeing pics of Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez in bathers. Seriously, he is kinda weird!

Just a little bit more Oscars....

James, you know the stoned one up the front, at one stage of the night introduced the next presenters as follows:

"I have six degrees of Kevin Bacon away from our next two presenters."

For those of you who don't know, it is claimed that every actor in Hollywood can be connected to Kevin Bacon in 6 movies or less

I love a bit of this game so here goes....the two presenters were Scarlett Johannson and Matthew McConaghy (who by the way looked extremely sexy and washed...if you are wondering...I would!) So the Scarlett connection, Franco co-starred in his new film “His Highness” with Natalie Portman, who was in “The Other Boleyn Girl” with Scarlett Johansson. The Matthew connection...Franco played best friends drug dealin ‘with Danny McBride in “Pineapple Express.” McConaughey and McBride co-starred in “Tropic Thunder”.

And just for your interest.....

James Franco has a Bacon number of 2.

James Franco was in The Dead Girl (2006)with Rose Byrne, who was in X-Men: First Class (2011)with Kevin Bacon !

If you need a bacon connection and are having trouble working it out go to http://oracleofbacon.org/. It's fun!

Your Highness

Don't ever let it be said that James Franco and Natalie Portman are afraid to tackle a wide range of acting genres.  They have done it again - you could not get much further from '128 Hours' and 'Black Swan' than 'Your Highness'.

This romp also stars the cute-as-pie Zooey Deschanel  so 3 ticks for me.

Throughout history, tales of chivalry have burnished the legends of brave, handsome knights who rescue fair damsels, slay dragons and conquer evil. But behind many a hero is a good-for-nothing younger brother trying just to stay out of the way of those dragons, evil and trouble in general. Danny McBride and James Franco team up for an epic comedy adventure set in a fantastical world--"Your Highness." As two princes on a daring mission to save their land, they must rescue the heir apparent's fiancée before their kingdom is destroyed.

Inside The Actor's Studio - James Franco

Recently K. reviewed the amazing '127 Hours', the new James Franco film and we were also excited to hear that he has been chosen to host the Oscars this year along with Anne Hathaway.  His latest outing was to the Actor's Studio at NY's Pace University.
Apparently it was the hottest ticket in town. According to TMZ, hundreds of industry folks and a record 250 paying customers had to be turned away from the sold out taping! The Franco groupies gave James Lipton (the host) a little trouble with the interview having to be stopped due to their screaming.
"17 years filming this show and I've never heard a sound like that before." said Lipton.

You'll be glad to hear that the fame hasn't gone to James' head. Apparently, he stayed for an hour-and-a-half after the taping to speak with his fans.

127 HOURS

Wow..................exhausted after watching this one!!! 127 HOURS is the true story of Aron Ralston, and the mountain climber's remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage to free himself by cutting off his own arm. James Franco is fantastic in the lead role, and is pretty much onscreen for the duration of this film, both in the canyon scenes and via flashbacks. Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, The Beach, Trainspotting) directs the film, and as always, does an amazing job. There's not much to say about the actual story, we all know what is going to happen, and yet, when it does, you won't be able to watch. I didn't see anyone in the sceening I was in, fully watching the screen during the goriest scenes! Although, as James Franco kindly pointed out, Danny Boyle has been easy on the audience, in the film, it only takes a few minutes to cut off his arm (although it feels like 127 hours!!), in real life, it took Ralston about 4 hours!

The film shows scenes where Ralston films himself on a video camera, as a video diary of his ordeal. It is interesting to note, that these tapes actually do exist and have been shown only to a couple of Aron's closest friends. However, he allowed both Danny Boyle and James Franco access to them, to enable them to portray the scenario as real to life as possible.

Special mention goes to the beautiful Dr Andy Brown of Everwood (Treat Williams) who plays Aron's dad, very briefly!!!!

127 HOURS is not the easiest of films to watch, but if you are going to watch it, you should definitely do so on the big screen, to get the full impact! If you liked TOUCHING THE VOID, then you will definitely dig this one. Worth a look. It opens in Australia early next year.

Check out James at the London premiere of the film last night. Now look closely at the way his cardy is buttoned!!! Do you think it's meant to look like this?? He certainly just beats to his own drum!!!

Eye Candy

Anyone recognise this Hollywood hunk?

I certainly wouldn't blame you if you didn't although the tagline probably gives it away.  This lovely lady is none other than the kooky and obviously broadminded Mr James Franco!

You've got to admire a guy who makes the kind of choices James does - he marches to his own tune and we love him for it.  I am proud to say that my 'most compatible Hollywood star' is this man and I'll be following his career with great interest.

127 hours

Remember the guy that fell down a cliff rockclimbing and had to chop off his own arm, well they are making a film about it. Brought to you from Danny Boyle, who is an ace filmmaker, he did Transpotting, Slumdog Millionaire etc. We posted about this film quite awhile ago, as there were original talks that had Ryan Gosling playing the lead, and at the time, I thought he would be great, but the great man is as fussy as all get out with his choices and clearly something didn't suit.

anyway, here is James Franco in the teaser trailer for 127 HOURS.
