Random post on overalls.....

Well, i recently caught myself watching a film, of which I had no prior knowledge of before this viewing, and clearly, nothing better to do with my time. The film was called PASSION OF MIND. It's star, and I use the term loosely, was Demi Moore. It's a psychological drama made in 2000, and I can honestly say, I really had no idea what was going on for the majority of my viewing. The best review I could find was "Exhibits little passion and even less mind". Anyway, the reason for the post is that there was a scene where Demi was wearing overalls, and it felt so very familiar. Clearly she wore them in GHOST and after a little research I discovered that she also wore them in STRIPTEASE...hmmmm, a serial overall wearing lady. And surprisingly, while researching, clearly, again nothing better to do with my time, I discovered another serial overall wearing friend of ours, the one and only Jennifer Aniston. And where do you discover important gems like these???? Why on websites like 'The Dungarees Effect', 'Cute Girls in Overalls' and 'Women in Overalls'. WHO KNEW?????

Anyway, here are a few pics of Demi and Jen in overalls Just for a bit of random fun!.

Blimey - Is That You Neville?

This made me giggle - the person who made this certainly wasn't expecting Neville Longbottom to turn out like this.

Love Sparks!

I'm in a romantic kind of a mood so I thought I'd take a look at the movies written by the King of The Romantic Novel - Mr Nicholas Sparks.  The books are a pleasure but the movies have managed to lift them to another level... I think this may have quite a bit to do with the amazing casting, anyway let's take a look back at the Sparks movies in order....

Message in a Bottle

Starring Kevin Costner and Robin Wright Penn, was released in 1999.  Message in a Bottle is about a woman who finds a love letter in a bottle and becomes determined to track down the author.  It was Nicholas's first foray into movies and although not a massive critical success it still managed to rake in the bucks.

A Walk to Remember

Starring Shane West and Mandy Moore, this movie was released in 2002 and is possibly in my Top 10 list of favourite movies of all time!  Big call I know but if you are yet to see it please do.
When a prank on a fellow high-school student goes wrong, popular but rebellious Landon Carter (Shane West) is threatened with expulsion. His punishment is mandatory participation in various after-school activities, where he is forced to interact with the preacher's daughter Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), a girl he has known for many years but to whom he has rarely ever spoken.  Jamie ends up being the making of Landon and he in turn becomes her miracle.

The Notebook

Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, The Notebook was released in 2004 and has become the yard stick for all romantic movies.  Surely you all know what it's about and if you don't then for god's sake go and watch it.

Nights in Rodanthe

starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane, this movie was released in September 2008.
A doctor who is traveling to see his estranged son builds a connection with an unhappily married woman at a North Carolina inn.  This movie is worth watching just for the Inn!

Dear John

Starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, Dear John was released in 2010, and proves what a great romantic lead The Chan is.
This story is about a soldier (Tatum) who falls for a college student (Seyfried) while he's home on leave.

The Last Song

Starring Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, The Last Song was also released in 2010.  What a great year this was for Romantic drama and this movie capped it off.
Nicholas Sparks wrote this story with Miley in mind and even asked for her imput while developing the character.
The drama centers on a rebellious girl who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, the estranged duo learn to reconnect - and lets not forget that she meets the gorgeous Will Blakelee (Liam) for which I for one will be eternally grateful.  Thankyou to whoever cast this movie - it made our year!

The Lucky One

Starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, this movie will be released in 2012.  How can life get any better than a Nicholas Sparks romance starring Zac Efron?  I don't think it can.  This story revolves around a Marine, (Zac) who travels to North Carolina after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war.  I have read the book and it has all the calling cards of a great Sparks tale so I can only assume that we are going to love this one too. (did I mention ZAC IS IN IT?)

And in great news, Warner Bros. has just acquired The Best of Me, the new book by Sparks. While the novel isn't available yet, the deal was made when studio reps sat in a room with the author while he laid out the story. The plot revolves around high school sweethearts who drift apart as they reach adulthood and then reunite when a funeral brings them both back home . The Best of Me has just hit the shelves and Nicholas is in NZ as we speak promoting the book.  Can not wait to see who will direct, and star in this one.

So there you go - Sparks Movies in release date order - now  I need to know what order you would put them in?  1 - 6 best to worst, if you've seen them all.  If not, why not?  Which have you seen?

Jeremy Jackson - Who? I Hear You Ask....

Hobie Buchannon that's who!  Still in the dark - clearly you haven't been keeping up with your Baywatch re-runs - Hobie was the cute son of the Hoff.  Ringing bells now?
How about some photographic gems to jog your memory....

With me now?  Good.  Of course I bet you've been dying to know what happened to him.  Well just you wait - this kid, who showed such potential and was damn cute in Baywatch if I may say so has kind of dropped the ball a little in later life.  To start with, he looks like THIS now......
Hahahaha!  Seriously!  What is he thinking?  apparently not much as he is currently starring in the latest series of ....wait for it..... Celebrity Re-hab!
I can't tell you how disappointed I was to hear this - I had such high hopes for the young man.
Jeremy admitted in an interview that he had a severe drug problem during the time he was on Baywatch. He partly attributes his decision to leave Baywatch to his drug problem, as the drugs made him feel that working on the show was beneath him. After being arrested in a methamphetamine raid and a long stint in drug rehab, Jeremy says beat his addiction, remaining clean and sober until 2000.

It gets worse - in 2008 a sex tape surfaced. Jeremy claims he was forced to hand over the tape to "drug addicted thugs" pretending to work on behalf of a former love. I'm thinking there is the makings of a great TV Movie right there.
Which brings us to now.  Sadly Jeremy is still not in control of his addiction although this time he is struggling with steroid addiction.

With a bit of luck Jeremy Jackson will get the help he needs on Celebrity Re-hab and perhaps the next 31 years will go a little easier on him.  Good luck J.J.  Hopefully we'll see a little more of THIS Jeremy Jackson in the future.....

A Twist on the Man & Dog Series

These are not recent photos but I had to share them - firstly they caught my attention due to Liam and the dog but then when I saw more photos I realised the whole series needed to be shared.  Liam and Miley on a (not so private due to the telephoto lens) picnic and stroll with their dog, Mate. Awww!

The Vow

Due out in Feb next year - The Vow, starring Rachel and The Chan, has finally released a poster.  We have talked about this project before but in case you've forgotton....
Here's a reminder - A car accident puts Paige (Rachel McAdams) in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss, her husband Leo (Channing Tatum) works to win her heart again.  The perfect chick flick maybe?

man and dog series - to the next level....

Am loving this, someone who clearly has a little Ryan obsession and who is clearly slightly more mental than myself, has taken the man and dog series to a whole new level, well the ryan and dog series anyway. There is a whole website dedicated to 'Ryan vs the puppy'. the idea being that you must choose which is cuter in each shot, Ryan or the puppy. Some examples below. Go to ryangoslingvspuppy.tumblr.com to play!!!

A Gilmore Baby!!

Yes there is going to be a new generation of Star's Hollow residents and this one belongs to none other than my favourite Rory boyfriend - Dean Forrester.  We have watched Jared Padalecki grow from a sweet, and very tall young boy and perfect first love in the Gilmore Girls, to a hot and sexy as all hell demon chaser in Supernatural and now this young man is about to have a baby.
Jared and his wife Genevieve Cortese, whom he met on the set of Supernatural are expecting their first baby!  What lovely news.

It's Our Old Friend

Looks like Luke Danes has left the Hollow and is trying his hand at a little crime fighting.  Scott Patterson will turn up on an episode of C.S.I. soon and I'm thinking he's looking pretty sharp too.

Facebook Update - Why I Love M.R.

Why am I singing the Dawson's Creek song right now?I'm alone at my desk. I might have to crank on some Starship to get that out of my head.

Amy's Verdict Is In

Death by misadventure.

The coroner has ruled that Amy Winehouse suffered accidental alcohol poisoning when she resumed drinking after weeks of abstinence. "The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels (of alcohol) was her sudden and unexpected death,"

Amy was found with lethal amounts of alcohol in her blood – more than five times the British drunk driving limit.
Such a sad end for a young lady - just as she seemed to be improving too.
