This girl makes me look like an amateur....
This chick is basically publicly stalking Leo while he is in Australia to film THE GREAT GATSBY. While, I am a tad jealous, as I would love as Leo sighting, especially since Blake is apparently here as well, but seriously, i think she just wants her head on tv.
Watch her Sunrise appearance here. S€eriously a little crazy! http://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunrise/video/-/watch/26469049/looking-for-leo/

The Great Gatsby
Honestly who doesn't love a Baz Luhrmann film? You can not beat the man when it comes to making big, gorgeous, outrageous films. How thrilling to anticipate his latest project - arguably the Great American Novel, The Great Gatsby, and filmed in Australia no less.
Now down to the important casting news....
Now down to the important casting news....
Joel Edgerton has just beat out Luke Evans for the role of Tom Buchanan in the epic, winning the right to replace Ben Affleck, who had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. How great is that! What a fantastic opportunity for Joel. He will be joined by Leonardo DiCaprio playing the enigmatic millionaire Jay Gatsby; Tobey Maguire the narrator and protagonist Nick Carraway; Carey Mulligan, Edgerton's on-screen wife Daisy Buchanan; (we think) Isla Fisher as his mistress, Myrtle; and newcomer and fellow Aussie Elizabeth Debicki as Jordan Baker.
I for one am off to read the book once again - what better reason?

INCEPTION - THE REVIEW

INCEPTION was always a film that had to be watched. It is written and directed by the genius that is Chris Nolan, for those of you not familiar, think THE DARK KNIGHT, BATMAN BEGINS, and MEMENTO. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine etc. So ticks in many boxes before the film even starts......
I'm in the cinema, the film starts, we;re about 15 minutes in and I'm thinking that I it's going to be one of those films that i have no hope of understanding and everyone around me will be raving and saying it is brilliant and I'll just have to nod and smile and say wasn't Leo good, because I really didn't get it.......but then, Chris Nolan grabs my arm, he begs me to come with him, jump on the ride, because he will make the ride worthwhile........and all of a sudden, I'm in. And it's one hell of a ride! I won't say too much about the story, as going in clean will be an asset. i am willing to admit, right here in print, that I'm not really sure that i got it, but seriously, it didn't matter. The deeper you go, the more you understand, but then there is more to understand, and more questions to ask. Quite confusing really!!!!
I would say it's kind of a cross between The matrix and james Bond. does that make it sound good? I'm not sure, but there is much sci fi and action, so this is the best I can do.
The acting is brilliant. The casting is inspired (as always Chris!) Leonardo is a genius. He is Dom, he's not lovely Leo , and he's good. I was intrigued to see what Ellen page could do, and she holds up extremely well. Joseph is really well cast and suits his role perfectly. Even Leo's best mate Lukas Haas gets a role (remember the kid from WITNESS, well thats Leo's BF). I do have a new crush though. If you are a regular reader of the blog you will know i have a thing for hot english boys, well hello Tom Hardy. He plays tough guy Eames, and I might add, he does it very nicely!! (maybe a separate post is required)
it's a film, that people will love but it won't be for everyone. I am still thinking about it 2 days on, and still wondering what went on. I am by no means high brow when it comes to film choice, and I loved it. So don't be afraid to give it a go, no matter what your taste in film, through the genius sci fi etc there is a story you can love.

a little joseph for you

In the lead up to our Hollow night out, thought i would post on some sightings of the star of 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, Joseph Gordon Levitt. He was spotted ysterday on the set of his new film, INCEPTION, which also stars Leonardo Dicaprio and Ellen Page. It is a sci- fi, action, thriller vibe, not the usual Stars Hollow fare, however, great cast and it is aChris Nolan film. He is a genius, so no doubt it will be amazing. (think Memento, Batman) Looks kind of Matrixy! Interesting that Joe and Ellen are trying something a little new and different. Not out until mid 2010 but there is a sneak peek below.
Note: 500 DAYS has now officially taken over $25M US, making it a success!!! It's budget was $7M, not much in Hollywood terms.

oh, the choices a gal has to make......

Apparently Ms Diaz, soon to be seen in SISTER'S KEEPER, is caught up (are those the right words? really ...caught???) in a love triangle with Jude Law and Leonardo Dicaprio. Lordy, I wouldn't mind being 'caught' in that! She is buddies with both after filming GANGS OF NEW YORK with Leo and HOLIDAY with Jude, but has been seen being more than friendly with both in recent days! I say 'go Cam' goodluck to you lady, may the best man win.
What are you thinking? Who should Cam date???
