One To Watch! (or two)

Think Scott Speedman meets one of the Hemsworth brothers and you have Mr Luke Bracey.
He's a scene stealer, looks damn cute with his shirt off and he's AUSTRALIAN.  All ingredients that make him worthy of my 'ones to watch' list.
I met Luke today when I saw 'Monte Carlo' in which he plays Leighton Meester's love interest.  I was immediately smitten with his dimples and when he opened his mouth and I realised he was one of ours I was sold.
Luke has previously done time on 'Home and Away' and ABC's 'Dance Academy' and has a couple of other offerings in production.  I am anticipating big things for this export.

While we are on the topic of 'Monte Carlo' - go and see it if only for the supporting male cast.  Not only will you get Luke, and Cory Monteith, but you will get to spend some time with this lovely specimen...

His name is Pierre Boulanger and if french accents do it for you then this is the one for you.  Already a prolific actor in France, this is Pierre's first American film and I promise you it won't be his last.

This movie is fun and frothy but I'm tipping all the actors in it have a lot more up their sleeves so stay tuned.

Josh Heads To Dallas

Recently I was looking back over my 'Predictions' and wondering what had happened to one of them - Josh Henderson.

I had been impressed with him in 'the Jerk Theory' and was surprised he hadn't been back on our radar --- well I spoke too soon.  as fate would have it Josh is back in the news.  He has just been cast in the re-boot of DALLAS.  Yes, Dallas, JR Ewing, big hats, big hair, and loads of drama...
Josh will star as J.R.’s son, John Ross.
The new Dallas plot follows John and Christopher, Bobby and Pam Ewing’s adopted son, who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance.

Sounds fabulous and even has a few of the originals signed on - Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray who all starred on the original series.  I will definitely tuning in to see the drama that will no doubt unfold.
Nice work Josh.

One To Watch - Rafi Gavron

Do you know the feeling when you are watching a show or a movie and instead of watching the leads, who are supposed to have your attention, you find your self drawn to one of the supporting cast?  One of the earlier times this happened to me was during 'She's All That' and I found myself drawn to the 'best friend', a young Paul Walker who I could not tear my eyes away from.  They have that indefinable something that lights up the screen whenever they appear.  I also call this the 'Puck' effect.

Lately I have been watching the CW show 'Life Unexpected' and every episode I find myself drawn to one of the supporting cast.  The character of  'Bug'  is played by Rafi Gavron and I think he is definitely one to keep an eye on.

In Life Unexpected Rafi plays the main character, Luxe's, boyfriend - the guy from the wrong side of the tracks who effectively is her 'family' as she navigates her way through the foster system.

I thought I'd see what else Rafi has been up to - He is English and his big break came when he was cast in 'Breaking And Entering' for which he was nominated at the British Independent Film Awards for Most Promising Newcomer.  He followed this up with roles in Inkheart and Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist.  Rafi has also had roles on TV in Rome, 24 and now Life Unexpected.

Interestingly Rafi's best mate is none other than another Englishman made good on US TV - Ed Westwick!

I look forward to seeing what Rafi does with himself next.

Wooooooah!

While we are on the subject of the pyramidalis - check out Robert Buckley!!!!!

For those of you who haven't come across this fabulous specimen - you may recognise him from Lipstick Jungle, One Tree Hill, or even 'Privileged'. Anyway, who cares where he comes from, let's just enjoy the view...

J. Has Another Prediction

I wasn't sure if I would make the effort to watch ' The Vampire Diaries', the new American TV show. But now that I have met one of the vampire brothers I am definately going to be tuning in. The series airs here on GO on Sept 28th. And this is Ian Somerhalder!
The show is based on the book series of the same name by L. J. Smith. The plot revolves around Elena Gilbert, a young heroine who is the object of passion for two vampire brothers—one good, one evil—who are at war for her heart and for the souls of her friends, family and all the residents of the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia.
Sounds good and if Ian is anything to go by then it will look good as well.
I even found this shot of Ian working with my Kristen Bell in 'PULSE' which sells him for me.
'
You may also recognise Ian from roles in 'LOST' and 'Smallville'.
A face to watch I'm thinking!!

PREDICTION

I have a bold prediction for you....
Keep your eye on JOSH HENDERSON!!
Who? I hear you ask.

This is Josh Henderson

While at the video store today a DVD caught my eye as I was leaving - your typical High School rom-com, which is always going to get my attention, but this one specifically held my attention as it starred Jenna Dewan (yes, the wife of the Chan). For this reason alone I decided to get it and give it a viewing.

'The Jerk Theory' is fairly formulatic and not that great as far as the genre goes but Jenna is very watchable and it features some really catchy tunes.

The big surprise was the male lead. I found myself ignoring Jenna, and everyone else for that matter, to watch Mr Henderson. The last time I found myself fixating to that extent was the first time I watched High School Musical and knew I was watching a star in the making. I had a similar feeling about Josh Henderson. Big call, I know, and maybe it is only me but I thought it worth putting out there.

Josh has starred on 'April Fool's Day', 'Desperate Housewives' and '90210' and also shared the screen with Jenna in 'Step Up'.

Here is the trailer for 'The Jerk Theory' to give you a snippet of Josh in action.

So... I predict that we are going to be hearing a lot more of Josh Henderson in the future.
(Oh, and by the way he sings all the songs in this movie. You've got to love a man who sings!)

You Go Girl!

I was all excited when I saw this shot of Miley pashing it up big time in the ocean - turns out it's not that exciting as it's for her new film, 'The Last Song', not some hot new man. (Looks good though!)

When I found out who the eye candy was the name rang bells so I thought I'd better find out if I was right - and yes Mr Liam Hemsworth is indeed the younger brother of the very delectable Chris Hemsworth!

Turns out that the Hemsworth gene pool is pretty damn fine with another brother also in the acting game. Having dinner at the Hemsworth's must be an absolute feast in more ways than one. I'm thinking entree, main, and dessert!!!

Luke, Chris, Liam
So I must say that I'm very impressed with Miss Miley's taste and am looking forward to seeing the littlest Hemsworth on the big screen. As usual Australia is producing some sterling talent.

The Last Song According to IMDB - Seventeen-year-old Veronica 'Ronnie' Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father ...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms - first love, the love between parents and children - that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, (The Notebook, A Walk To Remember) the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts ...and heal them.
(and before you ask - NO Billy Ray is not playing the father! )

Hot New Talent - according to J.

The first time Alex Pattyfer registered on my 'People to watch' radar, he was starring opposite Emma Roberts in 'Wild Child'. I, of course, IMDB'd him and kept a mental note to do a post about him. Well I forgot and now I've discovered he is in a new movie with...... Baby V. (Miss Vanessa Hudgens).

Alex is English and a model with only a few movie credits to his name so far. Stormbreaker in 2006 with Alicia Silverstone, Wild Child with Emma in 2008, and Tormented in 2009, where a bullied teenager comes back from the dead to take revenge on his classmates!

He and Baby V are co-starring in 'Beastly'. The premise of the movie is Beauty and the Beast with a modern twist when a New York teenager is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love. Alex Pettyfer stars as the beast and Mary-Kate Olsen also makes an appearance.
I can't wait! Hope you too get the same enjoyment from feasting on Alex.
