Blimey - Is That You Neville?

This made me giggle - the person who made this certainly wasn't expecting Neville Longbottom to turn out like this.

Well who would have thought....little harry potter

Daniel Radcliffe has opened up about his battle with alcohol at the age of 18 while working on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, the sixth film in the global franchise.

The 22-year-old actor told GQ (via SMH) that he “became so reliant on [alcohol] to enjoy stuff. There were a few years there when I was just so enamoured with the idea of living some sort of famous person’s lifestyle that really isn’t suited to me.”

“I really got away with that because there were many instances when a shot like that could have been taken,” Daniel said, referring to the eminent threat of paparazzi photographing his every move.

Daniel stopped drinking last August and prefers spending his downtime home with his girlfriend rather than partying.

“I’m actually enjoying the fact I can have a relationship with my girlfriend where I’m really pleasant and I’m not ….ing up totally all the time. As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me. I do that very unsuccessfully. I’d just rather sit at home and read, or talk to somebody that makes me laugh,” Daniel said. “There’s no shame in enjoying the quiet life. And that’s been the realisation of the past few years for me.”

NOWHERE IS SAFE

So goes the tagline for the new Harry Potter posters.
I'm tipping this movie is going to be emotionally exhausting - we have spent more than a decade getting to know and love these characters - a decade becoming emotionally invested in their fates and I for one will probably bawl like a baby from the opening credits.

Considering I cried through most of the book I can't see the movie being any different.  Hurry up Deathly Hallows - I can't wait.

A Hogwarts Engagement?

Ginny Weasley is engaged to Gellert Grindelwald! Who knows?  The rumour has been around since May this year but is still to be confirmed although where there is smoke.... as the saying goes.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny) and Jamie Campbell Bower (Gellert, also Caius from Twilight) met on the set of the latest Harry Potter installment and have been dating ever since.

They are 19 and 21 years respectively so hopefully this is just a rumour that has gained momentum.
For those of you who aren't as up on your Harry saga as you should be - Gellert Grindelwald (c. 1883-1998) was considered the most dangerous Dark Wizard of all time, after Tom Riddle of course.

Half Blood Prince

I don't know if I can concentrate after those shots of Channing but I'll try.

Last night K, J and E fronted up at the Sun Theatre in Yarraville to watch the 5th instalment of Harry Potter. It was a 12.01am session so we came prepared - rugs, thermos, snacks, and plenty of enthusiasm.
I think we were partly excited by the fact that we were out so late but never the less we were on the edge of our seats waiting to see how HBP would pan out. I'm not going to bother reviewing the movie - if you're a Harry fan than you'll be happy and if you're not a Harry fan, then you should be and I have nothing more to say to you.

We had a ball - we weren't there to be critical but to enjoy the movie and we did just that. I could have sat through it again and I know K felt the same. We laughed, cried (Oh Dumbledore), and even squealed in fright at one point. I'm tipping we may be back for a second viewing!

So thanks K and E for a great night out and I'll see you back at the midnight session for 'New Moon' in 127 days!

Midnight Session

Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince - Saw it - Loved it - tell you all about it in the morning - must sleep now............

Oh Dear Dan

I'm thinking all things Harry Potter at the moment for obvious reasons.
Daniel Radcliffe is a firm favourite here at Star's Hollow but at the world premiere of Half Blood Prince earlier this month he wasn't looking his best I feel. Both Rupert and Emma were soaked by the rainy evening but they at least looked good.

Daniel was in good company though with Helena Banham Carter also walking the red carpet and saving him from a worst-dressed award. I'm not sure that the hairstyle is working for Daniel and he may need to sit down and have a chat to Rob Pattinson for some tips on sending chicks crazy with a ruffle of his hair. Never underestimate the power of hair, even on the blokes. Look at the intense interest in Zac's trim, and even Chase Crawford causes a stir whenever the barber goes near him. Daniel could benefit from a little more 'Harry' and a little less 'Hitler'.

Harry Loves Ginny

When I read the Harry Potter books I was thrilled when Harry finally looked around him and realised Ginny was more to him than just Ron's little sister. The hopeless romantic that I am got such a kick out of every ounce of their relationship. For this reason I can't wait until midnight on Tuesday night when I will finally see this relationship begin on the big screen. They have been very coy about letting out any screen shots of the two of them which has made the suspense even more unbearable. Considering what happens to Harry and Ginny at the end of the series, I'm dying to see it begin.

Bonnie Wright (Ginny) has been out and about at the premieres of Half Blood Prince and I think she looks particularly lovely in this shot. My hasn't she grown up!

Not Even Magic Will Stop It

I'd like to apologise to Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). We should not have posted about him and drawn extra attention to him - turns out he has contracted SWINE FLU. Hope he didn't get it from us!
Feel better Rupert.

What's Going On At Hogwarts?

Wooow! I totally agree K. That is a whole side of Daniel that I didn't know was there. It got me thinking that maybe Harry's mates might also be holding out on us.
This is what I found!! I'm quite shocked really and think I need to go and have a lie down.
