So, as not many of us are hugely keen to see the new and not improved FOOTLOOSE, let's concentrate on the original and best. Here's Kevin talking about his days as an 'undercover' student for his preparation for FOOTLOOSE.

FOOTLOOSE - what are you thinking?

You may or may not know that I have a great love of the original FOOTLOOSE film. It is the ultimate in film entertainment, and it has Kevin Bacon!! And he is gorgeous in it! So i had extremely mixed feelings about a remake of this masterpiece. Well, actually, they were only mixed when I thought Zac Efron was going to play Ren, after he wisely left the project, then my thoughts were fairly negative, as they are to all remakes of 80's classics (are you listening Kenny Ortega????) .

So anyway, on Friday, I was invited to a screening of the new FOOTLOOSE. I was torn whether to even go or not. My main concern is that I would actually like it, and then I would be disloyal to Kevin and my friends from the original. I was more than happy to hate it! However, I didn't hate it! I didn't love it, in fact, it's pretty hard to hate it when it is basically exactly the same film as the original. I even found myself reciting lines. Same lines, same songs, same dance moves, in fact SAME!!! So if you are nostalgic about the original, just watch it. I'm not sure that youngsters today will embrace the film the way we did the original. A couple of things to note, ren, not too dusty, and the new Chris Penn is actually pretty ace!

i saw some FOOTLOOSE footage today. Releases in Australia in October. Not allowed to say much (confidentiality agreements etc) but will bring you more when allowed......already having some major opinions about it!

I love movies, I love dancing, I love dancing in movies, and you know how much i love FOOTLOOSE....

So imagine what i thought when i saw this........this is so ace! Footloose rocks!

It's official...

The remake of FOOTLOOSE is dead. Did it ever have a chance with no Zac, no Kenny, no Kevin and no 80's!!! I do feel a bit sad for Chace, there was alot of hype, so hopefully he will find another fun project to keep him busy!

Turns out we are not the only ones who aren't all that keen on the new Footloose movie! Kenny Ortega (Dirty Dancing, H.S.M) who was supposed to be directing has pulled out due to creative differences. It is reported that Kenny wants to make an elaborately-staged musical while the studio wants a cheaper, edgier drama with less emphasis on the musical numbers.

As much as I love and adore Kenny, I must say that I am in agreement with the studio on this one. Mind you, at least if they prettied it up like they did with 'Hairspray' it would be completely different to the original and therefore more acceptable. I'm in 2 minds on this one.

No Ren McCormack

There is no arguing the gorgeousness of Chace Crawford. I will be the first to put my hand up and say he is very rootable (classy aren't I), but come on!!! Chace has just signed on for the remake of Footloose and although we had warning we never thought they would really go ahead with it. It looks like it is now a done deal with the movie set for release in 2010.

the new FOOTLOOSE is officially dead to me now! Latest I hear is that Miley Cyrus, whose mouth is freakishly too big for her head, is being considered for the role of Ariel, next they'll be casting Billy Ray as her preacher dad! AAAARRRGGGHH! Chace Crawford is apparently confimed for Ren and other ladies that have apparently auditioned are Hayden Panettiere, Amanda Bynes and Dancing With the Stars Julianne Hough. Just leave it alone people!!
