A little Ryan for your weekend..
He's been spotted today cruising around NY holding hands with Eva, after she giggled her face off on Ellen, and wouldn't say anything about him. Seriously, if you were shagging Ryan, would you not be standing on roves shouting it out to anyone who would listen?
He also has a new trailer out for his upcoming film, GANGSTER SQUAD. While this is not really Stars Hollow fare, of course i shall be viewing. Of note, is that the the most gorgeous Emma Stone, gets to pash him again. Is this fair?

Best Oscars
Emma Stone. We have had a love of Emma here in the Hollow for awhile, but she was so fun tonight, but not in a try hard, hideous way. She was genuinely fun! Refreshing!!!!

Crazy, Gorgeous Photo
'Dancing In Beaumont' may not usually post about 'style' but I don't usually post about Ryan so today is a day for firsts.
When I saw this image from 'Crazy Stupid Love' I just had to share it. I guess it appeals to me as an image rather than a Ryan vehicle so I'm kind of playing to type.

From the "Before they were famous" file
Back in 2004 when she still went by Emily and was trying to make it big in Hollywood, The Help star Emma Stone competed in a VH1 talent show competition called In Search of the Partridge Family. Listen as a raven-haired Stone belts out a rendition of "We Belong" with fellow competitor Alexis Mero, and watch out for her toned down take on the Celine Dion chest pound. While Stone ended up winning the role of Laurie on the competition, VH1 only aired the pilot episode.
Two things, didn't know she was Emily, and oh my god, how could a show called 'in search of the partridge family not have worked????

Tobey Or Andrew?
While we are on the topic of 'things I just don't get' - I have never understood the appalling casting of old limpy - Tobey Maguire in Spiderman. Terrible. I know Peter Parker is supposed to be far from the coolest guy on the street but seriously even I couldn't suspend disbelief long enough to pretend Tobey could be anything but a complete nerd, even in a really cool suit.
It is with great relief that I applaud the casting of the delightful Andrew Garfield for the re-boot. Still dorky but Oh so cute.
Here are some pics of Andrew and Emma Stone filming at the moment.

I adore Kirsten Dunst but I think Emma will be perfect.. These two may just reignite my interest in Spidey which took a bit of a beating after the last movie.

THE HELP - trailer
This looks lovely! Based on the beautiful book of the same name stars one of my new faves, Emma Stone in the lead role.
Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends' lives -- and a small Mississippi town -- upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Davis), Skeeter's best friend's housekeeper, is the first to open up -- to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter's life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories -- and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly -- and unwillingly -- caught up in the changing times

Crazy, Stupid Love
Couldn't be more excited about this one!! Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, Kevin bacon, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore in a comedy from the same team that brought us BAD SANTA!!!
We (well me!) posted many shots from the set while they were filming this one. the date has just been moved from April to a summer release in the states, often a good sign! Below is the first pic released from the film and an official synopsis.
At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream–good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his “perfect” life quickly unravels. Worse, in today’s single world, Cal, who hasn’t dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth. Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protege to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal’s eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can’t be found at Supercuts or The Gap. Cal and Emily aren’t the only ones looking for love in what might be all the wrong places: Cal’s 13-year-old son, Robbie, is crazy about his 17-year-old babysitter, Jessica, who harbors a crush on Cal. And despite Cal’s makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can’t be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.

Emma Stone
The lovely Emma Stone (Easy A) has recently unveiled a new do. What do you think of the new blonde locks?
I must say I was unsure until I saw this shot from the set of the new Spiderman movie - very cute.

EASY A - the review
It's been on our 'movies we're waiting for ' list for over a year now. See original post here. And finally we have seen it, a sneaky little peek.
The film is the cutest film I've seen for a while. Smart and funny! The first thing I did when I left the cinema was to check out who wrote this film. By the way it's Bert V Royal. the reason for my enquiry was because it felt like someone my age who grew up in the eighties must have written it. Bert is actually about 33 but is very connected with his eighties film vibe. So many references that sadly may be lost on the teen audience that this film is essentially targeted at. Think 'Say Anything', 'Can't Buy Me Love' and anything written by john Hughes. Bert you are a genius, the script is clever, funny and smart.
It's essentially about a pretty straight girl, who tells a little white lie about her virginity, which starts a rumour that gets crazily out of control. The story is all told to the backdrop of the novel 'The Scarlett Letter'.
Emma Stone is amazing as the sarcastic Olive, and my new girl crush! Love her! The supporting cast do a great job. Special mention to Patricia Clarkson and Stanley tucci who play olive's parents. They steal every scene they are in. Amanda Bynes in what was to be her last role before retiring, plays the goody two shoes to perfection. Cam Gigandet, as her boyfriend, doesn't get much screen time and does disappoint! One of the concerns I had prior to seeing the film, was the casting of Penn Badgley as the love interest, let me just say that Dan Humphrey does nothing for me, however, Woodchuck Todd does!!!
"I wish my life was like an eighties movie"
The one liners come thick and fast, as do the 80's movies references. This is a fun flick and i for one, will definitely be seeing it again.
