The Hobbits still hanging out

I love that the Hobbits still hang together. here they are at billy boyd's wedding!

Something from 2011 for Cool rider

Fave song and clip of 2010

Such a pretty song and beautiful clip........

Fave gig moment of 2010 was locking eyes with Rai and having a 'moment' at Hi Fi Bar.

Most memorable Film quote of 2010

Aldous Snow: When the world slips you a Jeffrey, stroke the furry wall.

Fave films of 2010

Don't tell Cool Rider I have been so slack with posting since she has been away!!! At least i've covered the majors..pregancies, engagements, marriages and a bit of Ryan!!!

As a little goodbye to 2010, here is a list of some of my fave films of the year. this is in no particular order, as i always find it hard to pick just one!!

ANIMAL KINGDOM - this is a great Aussie film. it's the type we do so well. it's a tough watch, and fairly violent, but mesmerising at the same time. The performances are fantastic and i found Ben Mendelsohn's portrayal of 'Pope' absolutely menacing and convincing.

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT - I love this type of film. Brilliant cast, great acting, well written. A great night out at the flicks and Vampire Weekend on the soundtrack!

EASY A - this flick was so well written, with smart dialogue and many 80's references, and it introduced me to my newest girl crush, Emma Stone. Can't wait to see more of her in the future. It also let me get to know another new fave chick Aly Michalka form Hellcats a little better and my dislike for ∂an Humphrey, eased slightly, he was kinda cute as the beaver (was that what he was, can't remember now!) And the film is totally worth watching just for the performances of patircia Clarkson and Stanley tucci!

THE LAST SONG - was absolutely adorable. Bawled my eyes out and fell in love all at the same time!!!

Ahhhhh....lovley Liam!

HARRY POTTER 7 - of course, except the weird fantasy scene in the forest with hermione and harry, that kinda freaked me out!!!

DEAR JOHN - why not!!!! switch off the brain, shed a tear, enjoy the joys of a hot bogan!!!

CHARLIE ST CLOUD - This is really a whole other category. Best film moment of the year. Who knows if the film was actually any good, we watched in the presence of the man himself, Zac Efron! My loins are limbering just thinking about it!!!!

HURT LOCKER - yes, it was 2010. Great film!

THE TOWN - Ben Affleck, the comeback king. Written, directed and acted in this ripper crime thriller. If you haven't seen it, catch it when it's out on DVD. Definitely worth a look.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK - What an excellent film. Topical, fascinating, brilliant acting, directing and such clever dialogue. This film introduced me to the delights of Andrew Garfield, of whom I am now looking very forward in seeing in some future projects!

and of course BLUE VALENTINE. I know there are some of you that are Gosling lovers that are not necessarily loving this film, but I think the more distance you have from it and can appreciate the amazing performances of Ryan and Michelle, then I think you will love it! Or am I really just too biased to even watch a film with Ryan in it and not love it!

So there you have it. i know i will have forgotten some and I know there are others that I loved, but maybe not quite as much as these ones!!!

Nat's knocked up!!!

Natalie Portman and her boy, Benjamin Millepied (the name does make me giggle!!) who was her choreographer on BLACK SWAN have announced that not only are they engaged, but NAtalie is pregnant as well. I do love me some Nat, she has shown amzing promise since I first saw her in The Professional and then in Beautiful Girls and I have been a fan ever since. However I do have a sad story to tell. On Friday I saw her latest venture NO STRINGS ATTACHED with Ashton Kutcher, and to be honest, it's pretty ordinary. It will be interesting to compare it with the other film of the same theme FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS starring Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis and Emma Stone etc written by Will Gluck who so superbly penned EASY A. NO STRINGS ATTACHED felt very try hard, was badly scripted and to be honest a little bit too crude unnecessarily! Anyway will be interested to hear what others thing when it comes out. I myself am looking very forward to NAtalie's other project BLACK SWAN which is gaining some Oscar momentum!

Zac gets a buzz

And he gives me a buzz...but here he is with a new buzz cut for his new film THE LUCKY ONE. He took the opportunity to make some money and donate it to charity at the same time. Challenging the crew to also cut their hair and for each that did, he donated to a local charity!! Awww!

Christmas On TV

It's Christmas Eve so I thought we'd have a look at some of the classic Christmas episodes from the small screen.  I think the episode that changed popular culture would have to be the O.C.'s Christmakkah episode each season.  Seth Cohen's obsessive enthusiasm for this holiday ensured it has become an institution all over the world.
Can we make special note of Seth's amazing and fabulous collection of Christmas jumpers!  Priceless.

Tees 4 Gulf

Sophia and Austin are still doing their part for the Gulf crisis - selling these tees with all profits going to Gulf Relief.
Nice to be reminded at Christmas that people are still care.

Keith and Nicole are On The Move

Unfortunately Mr Urban is leaving our shores and heading back to Nashville.  The Urban family left from Sydney airport today looking very relaxed and happy.
Bye Keith!

can't stop looking

I know I only posted this pic a few hours ago, but seriously, have a long hard look at that Ryan Gosling's face...so handsome in this photo...can't wait!

Zac!

He's hungry, he's wet, HE'S SINGLE!

Zac spotted out and about - obviously getting lunch!  Don't say we don't bring you the breaking news as it happens!!

If you loved heath....

If you like Michelle Williams or loved Heath Ledger or even just love to hear the Dawson's Creek music, you should absolutely watch this interview with michelle. She talks quite alot about heath and be warned, it might make you(JK) a little bit sad.

I just love him!

Such a dag and in the name of a good cause!

You’re watching You’ve Got Kevin Bacon. See the Web's top videos on AOL Video

Crazy, Stupid Love

Couldn't be more excited about this one!! Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, Kevin bacon, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore in a comedy from the same team that brought us BAD SANTA!!!

We (well me!) posted many shots from the set while they were filming this one. the date has just been moved from April to a summer release in the states, often a good sign! Below is the first pic released from the film and an official synopsis.

At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream–good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his “perfect” life quickly unravels. Worse, in today’s single world, Cal, who hasn’t dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth. Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protege to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling). In an effort to help Cal get over his wife and start living his life, Jacob opens Cal’s eyes to the many options before him: flirty women, manly drinks and a sense of style that can’t be found at Supercuts or The Gap. Cal and Emily aren’t the only ones looking for love in what might be all the wrong places: Cal’s 13-year-old son, Robbie, is crazy about his 17-year-old babysitter, Jessica, who harbors a crush on Cal. And despite Cal’s makeover and his many new conquests, the one thing that can’t be made over is his heart, which seems to keep leading him back to where he began.

Is Ryan dating Michelle? I'll let him answer that.....

In Case You Were Wondering Where Nic's Kids Were

Nicole Kidman has a happy home life with husband Keith Urban and daughter Sunday Rose, 2-1/2, but says there is something missing. The Rabbit Hole actress says she wishes kids Isabella, 18, and Connor, 15, lived with her. The kids now live with Nicole's ex Tom Cruise, a decision she says she respects.

"They live with Tom, which was their choice. I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?," she says.

Question of the year..'Who the f**k is Justin Bieber'?

Ahhh, Christmas memories..........

Tom Cruise remembers his family holidays. "I would say one of the best Christmases as a kid is when we didn't buy each other stuff. My mother came up with this idea to pick names out of a hat and, for a month, you had to do something for that person. And then, on Christmas day, you had to write a poem or a story for that person. But you had to do something special for that person every day for a month leading up to Christmas. And you can't reveal who it is. So all five of us were running around ... I drew one of my sisters, so I had to go in and make her bed when she was in the shower ... It was fantastic. And then, Christmas day came, and we each got up and said who we had and wrote a story. And I love that. I love that. My mother was very much ... we would go to nursing homes to help people around that time, and she was very much supportive and encouraging to help others ..."

Hmmm, the good times just never stopped in the Cruise household!! Seriously, the sentiment is a good one, not so sure about the story and poem......

Didn't take long,......

for Baby V to turn into a 'hussy'!!!!

The Chan and Jenna Together Again

Stars Hollow's favourite bogan married couple - The Tatums - have just begun filming on their new movie.  Yes we get to see both of them in the same movie taking us back to the halcion days of Step Up.
The movie is TEN YEAR which we mentioed a little while ago and also stars Chris Pine, Haylie Duff, Justin Long, Scott Porter, John Krasinski, Anna Faris and her husband Chris Pratt, Brian Geraghty and Kate Mara.  It is an ensemble rom-com about a group of friends reuniting 10 years after leaving school.  It is scheduled for release in 2011 so best we keep our eye on it and those delightful Tatums now that they have got it off the ground.

Wonder Woman

As seen in my previous post The Big Bang Theory's Penny is looking fabulous as Wonder Woman but she is not the first and she won't be the last to don the  golden lasso in the name of sexy costuming.

Check out these lovelies....

Bones

The O.C.

The Family Guy

The Kardashians

Kate Beckinsale

And just because this was a classic episode here's some more of Summer giving Seth his Christmakkah present
And here is the original and argueably the best - Ms Linda Carter

Big Bang Theory

Like Two & A Half Men, The Big Bang Theory is a guilty pleasure of mine that I think I have quite successfully hidden from you until now.  This upcoming episode of BBT has thrust me out of the closet though.  It is titled 'The Justice League Recombination' and  that is quite frankly all I need to know.  Can't wait.

Zack: Where do they keep the Archie comics?

Sheldon: In the bedrooms of ten year old girls were they belong.

Sheldon: We're the Justice League of America. There's only one thing we can do - turn around and slowly walk away.

Parenthood News

In a fabulous piece of casting the divine John Corbett will be taking on a recurring role in Parenthood in the second half of season 2.
John will be playing Seth, Sarah's estranged ex-husband and the father of Amber and Drew!!
Seth will turn up in town to perform a few gigs with his band.
This character has not appeared since the pilot, where he was portrayed by Darin Heames.

It had been great having John back on TV in United States Of Tara and now we get even more of him which is ace!

Jim in Dubai

THOR

There are quite a few trailers being released for movies that we're eagerly awaiting - let's start with THOR featuring the massively cut Chris Hemsworth.

What do you think - worth spending your hard earned bucks on?

Waiting for Forever

This is one that has been on our list for awhile and finally we have a trailer. It's a great cast Rachel Bilson, Tom Sturridge, Blythe Danner, Richard Jenkins and Matt Davis. My vibe from the trailer is that it could be cute, but not fantastic! Feels as though Tom is channelling 'Duckie', and Rachel's acting chops, not so much, but hey, I am a sucker for this kind of thing, so no doubt i'll give it a viewing!!!

Let's get in the Christmas mood....

Conan and SHE AND HIM sing a little Chrissy song....

Meet Peter Gallagher

I've been re-visiting the O.C lately and it has led to many discussions about our love of Sandy Cohen and all things Peter Gallagher in general so I thought we should take a look at the man that brought Sandy to our screens and our hearts.
Since 1980, Peter has played many roles in numerous Hollywood films, Sex, Lies, & Videotape, While You Were Sleeping, Centre Stage, American Beauty to name just a few. He famously starred as the hilarious Sandy Cohen in the television drama series The O.C. from 2003 to 2007. Peter also made a memorable seven episode appearence in Californication and he currently appears in a recurring role on the drama Covert Affairs.

Peter is also a keen video gamer. He has completed the "Career Mode" in Top Spin for the Xbox and is known to anonymously enter online competitions!  I would expect nothing less from this man.

Peter has been married to Paula Harwood since 1983. They have two children: a son James (born 1990), and a daughter, Kathryn (born 1993).

And just when we thought we knew everything about Peter we find this fabulous film clip for his song 'Still I Long For Your Kiss'.  His TV wife, Kirsten, played by Kelly Rowan stars in it with him.
