This may surprise you but I am greatly looking forward to the Australian premiere of SPARTACUS - BLOOD AND SAND which airs in Australia tomorrow night at 9.30
I 'm not sure why it appeals to me but I will definitely be tuning in with great anticipation.
I have just realised that the lead is in fact an actor who has spent the last 11 years working in the Australian TV industry! Andy Whitfield has most recently been seen in Packed To The Rafters and McLeods Daughters, although he was originally from Wales and moved to Australia in 1999.
In March of this year Andy was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and began treatment immediately in New Zealand at the end of filming season one. As a result, production on the second season of Spartacus - which was scheduled to get underway late in April - had to be delayed.
Andy and his wife have two children which makes his cancer diagnosis even more tragic.
The good news is that he has recently been declared cancer free and is in remission!
Hopefully knowing a bit more about Andy inspires you to tune in tomorrow night. Enjoy - I know I will.

why would we be surprised that you would like a show with lots of hot muscly men running around without many clothes on?????
Visually it is extremely graphic and bloody both sexually and violently, Jen. So be prepared.
You can also catch Andy as Gabriel in the movie of the same name, about the arch-angel Gabriel.
