STEP UP 3D - REVIEW

So would you like the review??? If you are a cynical, hater of dance movies, then read no further!!!

If however, you are up for a dance movie, you should definitely give this a go! What's not to love? Although the film has many flaws, it is great fun to watch, and as much as I hate it, I have to say, the 3D was actually a highlight in this film. It's one of the first that has actually been truly effective. Many times we were squirming in our seats or being poked in the eye by a dancer!

The story is set in New York, and revolves around a bunch of homeless, misfit dancers, who are 'found' by Luke the owner of a converted loft which the dancers use to live, rehearse and dance in! They need money to save the loft from being sold to the evil rich boy dancer and thus enter a dance off between themselves and the bad boys dance crew. Hard to see where this is going, right?

There are a couple of familiar faces (but sadly no Chan in this one). 'Moose' (played by Adam Sevani) joins us from Step Up 2 as the nerd turned dancer, and his best friend Camille joins us from STEP UP. (played by Alison Stoner also in Camp Rock which is sadly where i think I recognised her from!!) Twitch from 'America's So you think you can dance' also has a role as a dancer. The leading lady is played by none other than Sharni Vinson from Home And Away, to be honest, we were a little disappointed. Not only did she have ordinary hair and way too much makeup, she is a good dancer, but not the best they could find, but hey, nice job getting the gig Sharni!

Now to the new faces!!! J was of course all over this before the film came out, but Rick Malambri brings some serious hotness to the action, with a couple of shirtless scenes thrown in for good measure.

Our other new fave is a guy by the name of Chadd Smith ( he can be found on twitter at http://twitter.com/MADDCHADD and you can see his moves here ). He doesn't really have much dialogue but he can dance like a robot and is cute as hell! Check him out!

two of my fave things about the film for me, were Luke's loft, which was so cool (as was Luke!) and I loved the dance scene at Natalie's bday (just a reference for when you go see this!)

Anyway, seriously good fun. Switch your brain off and enjoy the guilty pleasure that is STEP UP 3D!

I think my favourite bits were the same as yours although I'll have to add- Luke taking off his shirt - and the dance between Moose and his girl. Fun was had in Sunshine!
