Smallville - Day 7 - THE BADDIES

Throughout 10 seasons of Smallville poor old Clark Kent has had his fair share of bad dudes to deal with.  Let's have a look at some of the major players...
Season 1 - In the first season Clark must deal with the meteor-infected individuals that begin appearing in Smallville.  Who could forget Chloe's 'Wall Of Weird'?  Season 1 is a roll call of freaks and for now Lex Luthor is the good guy!
Here are a few of the 'Villians of the week'

Bug Boy - 'Metomorphasis'

      Jodi Melville - 'Craving'

Sean Kelvin - 'Cool'

Season 2 - Once again we get a weekly smorgasbord of Meteor freaks and we also start to question Lex's behaviour although his father Lionel is definitely the villain in the Luthor family at this stage.

Ian - 'Dichotic'

Lionel Luthor

Season 3 - follows Clark's constant fight against the destiny that his biological father, Jor-El, has in-store for him, and his guilt over the price Jonathan paid to bring him back to Smallville after his binge on red kryptonite (god I love an episode of red K).  S3 was also about showing just how evil Lionel is – illustrated by how he attempted to destroy Chloe’s life and make Lex believe that he is going insane.

Season 4 - centers on Clark's attempt to unite the three stones of knowledge, and trying to cope with Lana's new relationship with Jason Teague. Clark's friendship with Lex becomes increasingly strained, as he begins to distrust Lex more and more.  The delightful Genevieve also gives Clark and Lana a few headaches.

Season 5 - Clark has a new professor, Milton Fine, who eventually reveals himself to be an artificial intelligence created by Kryptonians and tries to free General Zod from the Phantom Zone.

Season 6 -  Poor old Clark spends most of Season 6 trying to recapture several escaped criminals he released from the Phantom Zone, including a Lex who has been possessed by General Zod!

Season 7 - Once again Lex is up to no good going so far as to murder his dear old dad, but this season we also see the return of Brainiac (Milton Fine) and we meet Bizarro - Tom welling clearly enjoys playing a baddy instead of straight-laced Clark. That and he gets to wear a blue jacket and red tshirt, instead of vice versa.  That has to be a nice change for Tom.

Season 8 - Lex Luthor may have left but never fear Doomsday is here.  Played by Sam Witwer (Battlestar Galactica, Being Human), Davis Bloome is a Ambulance officer with a dark secret - when Davis embraces his destiny he is Doomsday, a nearly mindless, berserk killing machine, with no feelings apart from unfocused hatred, murderous rage, and the sheer malicious joy of destruction.  Lovely isn't he!

Not quite as overtly hideous but still bad enough to give Clark some major headaches is the arrival of Tess Mercer on the scene.  Tess played by Cassidy Freeman, takes over Luthor Corp and while supposedly working in 'The Traveller's' best interests she manages to cause major havoc.

Season 9 - gave us two major baddies - One's has a kryptonite heart and the other has a major superiority complex!

Brian Austin Green (90210) plays the all metal man, Metallo - he of the Kryptonite heart, and  Callum Blue (The Tudors, Dead Like Me) plays Major Zod, who came out of Krypton's past prior to becoming the infamous general.

There you have it - the bad guys up to Season 10!  Who is the baddy you love to hate the most?
