KILLERS - THE MELBOURNE PREMIERE

DATE: TUESDAY 20TH JULY
VENUE: JAM FACTORY, MELBOURNE

KILLERS starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. directed by Rob Luketic

Admittedly, we were there to get a closer look at Ashton. He is an intriguing dude and cute enough, so who were we to say no to an invite that brought us closer to the real thing. All in the name of research people. First thing to note, he was early! Not so many red carpet arrivals are of the early kind, so we actually had to wait behind him, while he was signing autographs and having photos taken etc. He was most obliging to the waiting fans and most generous with his time and writing hand!

Front row seats in the cinema, as always at these things! He spoke well, there was no sign of the annoying 'punk'd' character, but a well spoken young man, appreciative of his place in movie making! And cute as a button in his beanie on a cold winter's night in Melbourne!

The film, which also stars Catherine O'Hara and Tom Selleck as Katherine Heigl's parents, who almost steal the show, starts off in a promising way. We are laughing out loud and enjoying ourselves and the film pretty much continues in this manner for the full 93 minutes.

THE PLOT
Spencer Aimes is just your average, undercover, government-hired super-assassin accustomed to a life of exotic European locales, flashy sports cars and even flashier women. But when he meets Jen Kornfeldt, a beautiful, fun-loving computer tech recovering from a bad break-up, he finds true love...and happily trades international intrigue for domestic bliss. Three years later, Spencer and Jen are still enjoying a picture-perfect marriage - that is, until Spencer and Jen learn he's the target of a multi-million dollar hit. Even worse, the hired killers have been stalking the happy couple for years, and could be anyone:

The film offers laughs, gratuitous shirtless Ashton shots, gratuitous booby shots of Katherine, a bit of action, a bit of romance and lots of fun. Watch out for the left of field cameo in Kmart

.This film has its flaws and will certainly be no favourite of the critics, but if you go expecting a fun lightweight romantic comedy, then you will come away more than happy! The perfect date movie!

This is a pic taken inside Ashton's hotel room!

Couldn't have said it better myself - He was so generous with everybody and came accross as a very poised young man. The film was indeed a great date movie as it was pretty, funny and had lots of testosterone filled moments to keep the boys from getting bored.
Thanks for the date!
